Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Daily morning shift from 7am to 12 noon.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel or department.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and maintain the front desk calendar.
  • Perform data entry tasks, ensuring accuracy in client records and information.
  • Maintain filing systems for both electronic and paper documents.
  • Assist with clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing documents.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages efficiently.
  • Support office staff with various administrative tasks as needed.
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws from patients, ensuring proper technique to minimize discomfort and reduce complications.
  • Collect blood samples for various tests, including but not limited to blood cultures, chemistry panels, and hematology tests.
  • Ensure correct labeling and handling of specimens to avoid contamination or misidentification.
  • Greet patients and explain procedures to alleviate any concerns or anxiety.
  • Verify patient information and ensure accurate identification before drawing blood.
  • Record and update patient medical information, including allergies, medical conditions, and previous blood draw history.
  • Prepare and process blood samples in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Ensure timely transport of samples to laboratory for analysis, following proper chain-of-custody protocols.
  • Maintain proper storage of specimens when necessary, ensuring they are kept at the correct temperature and conditions.
  • Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment, including needles, syringes, lancets, and collection tubes.
  • Ensure that all equipment is stocked, organized, and disposed of according to safety protocols.
  • Report any faulty or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate department for repair or replacement.
  • Adhere to infection control procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols for handling biohazardous materials and bloodborne pathogens.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Accurately document blood collection procedures and outcomes in the patient's electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Complete and submit required paperwork related to blood draws, ensuring all information is legible and accurate.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a similar administrative role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with office procedures and equipment, including phone systems and computers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in medical reception is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in data entry with attention to detail is essential.
  • Phlebotomy Certificate
