Job Description: Ambitious Account Manager
Summary of Role
The Ambitious Account Manager will collaborate with Producers and Account Executives to service client accounts. The role involves daily client servicing, extensive verbal, electronic, and written communications, and handling the renewal and marketing process. The Account Manager prepares materials for presentations, leads open enrollment presentations, and participates actively in client meetings. This role requires significant independent discretion and proactive relationship development with clients and carrier contacts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- **Client and Carrier Relationship Development:** Proactively develop relationships with carrier and client contacts; actively participate in meetings.
- **Communication:** Directly communicate with clients and carriers, in collaboration with senior team members.
- **Client Engagement:** Actively engage in and develop ongoing relationships with clients, relying on a growing knowledge of insurance coverages.
- **Market Knowledge:** Maintain relationships with carrier representatives to understand available products and services and recommend them to clients.
- **Leadership and Mentorship:** Provide informal leadership or mentorship to junior team members without official supervisory responsibility.
- **Additional Duties:** Perform other duties as assigned, making independent judgments with general supervisory support.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
- **Industry Knowledge:** Comprehensive understanding of benefits administration, Health Care Reform, industry trends, carrier products, and services.
- **Independence:** Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs.
- **Time Management:** Effective time management and decision-making skills.
- **Follow-Up:** Diligent follow-up skills.
- **Communication:** Clear expression of ideas in both written and oral communications.
- **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- **Presentation Skills:** Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities.
Education and/or Experience
- **Education:** Associates degree (or equivalent) required; BA/BS preferred.
- **Experience:** Over 3 years of client service and/or industry and product line experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
- **Insurance License:** Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License required. (215/240)
