Job Summary: The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for assisting all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position will also be responsible for muti-state and muti-entity payroll journal entries and reconciliations. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of accurate payroll records and reports.
  • Verify and reconcile payroll data, including timekeeping, benefits, and deductions.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure employee records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Assist in payroll tax filings and payments.
  • Assist with audits by providing payroll information and documentation as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure company compliance.
  • Assist in month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
  • In charge of all payroll journal entries and reconciliations for multiple entities and multiple business units.
  • Perform all other payroll related and accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • ADP experience highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
