Payroll Accountant

Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle payroll, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time
• Compute wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
• Maintain detailed payroll records, including taxes and garnishments
• Allocate labor costs to specific jobs and projects, and provide detailed reports for cost analysis
• Collaborate with project managers to track job-related expenses accurately
• Prepare and distribute 1099 forms to independent contractors, complying with IRS regulations
• Keep records of contractor payments and ensure accurate reporting
• Prepare and post general ledger entries related to payroll, job costs, and expenses
• Conduct monthly bank statement reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, wage reporting, and other financial regulations.• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Skilled in using ADP Workforce Now
• Familiarity with About Time software
• Ability to perform Accounting Functions
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting
• Experience in Auditing
• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Understanding of Cost Accounting
• Ability to manage Credit Card Payments
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Ability to make Journal Entries
• Experience with Full Cycle Payroll
• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations
