Medical Collections Specialist

Onsite in Phoenix, AZ 85027 area
Monday through Friday with a schedule of 6:30am – 3:30p
Pay will range between $18 - $20 per hour, dependent on incoming experience
Key tasks:
- Investigate and enter claims in the payment system.
- Keeping track and closing open and pending claims quickly and independently.
- Investigating claims with multiple coverages and complexities in or to determine if claims can be payable, resolve denials and correct rejections.
- Process cash transfers and check requests, reviewing insurance explanations, benefits and remits.
- Electronic, paper and web portal billings.
- Appropriately sending claims to departments for review and eligibility, processing collections.
- Develop detailed and professional explanation letters to non-payable claims based on policy provisions and claim documents.
- Consistent focus, work independently and with little supervision.
- Highly detailed and continuously practices performance and quality improvement.
What you bring
- Minimum of 1 year of RECENT experience in Medical Claims processing and Medical Collections
- Experience in Microsoft, Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task
- Ability to work individually and collaboratively
- Highly detailed and sense of urgency with ability to meet deadlines
- Strong customer service skills while being highly professional
Pay Details: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
