We are seeking an HR Specialist for our team in the Energy/Natural Resources industry, located in Prior Lake, Minnesota. As an HR Generalist, you will play a vital role in various human resources and administrative functions such as payroll processing, onboarding/offboarding, and coordinating with benefit carriers. This role is a long-term contract position.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee the payroll process for a small team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Assist with administrative HR functions such as setting up new hires and conducting background checks

• Coordinate with multiple benefit carriers for different locations and plants, ensuring the smooth operation of benefits administration

• Contribute ideas for culture building and policy development

• Manage some front desk duties, including greeting visitors and maintaining a welcoming environment

• Assist with travel arrangements, expense reports, and meeting preparations for senior management

• Handle basic invoicing and accounts payable tasks as required

• Serve as a backup for payroll administrators at other locations, as needed

• Balance duties between HR administration, accounting, and other basic administrative tasks.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a HR Generalist role or similar
• Proficient with ADP Workforce Now software
• Proven experience with Benefit Functions including employee benefits administration and maintenance
• Experience with Recruiting Functions including sourcing, interviewing, and selection processes
• Familiarity with Onboarding processes and procedures, ensuring smooth transition for new hires
• Ability to manage Payroll for a workforce of under 100 employees
• Knowledge of current employment laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and initiative to improve processes.
