Logistics Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Logistics Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will manage daily warehouse tasks, handle shipping and receiving requirements, ensure accuracy of shipments, and improve warehouse operations using lean practices.
Responsibilities- Manage daily warehouse tasks including receiving materials and shipping purchase orders.
- Handle internal shipping/receiving requirements with related parties, planners, and buyers.
- Ensure accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation.
- Receive incoming material and route to appropriate area or personnel.
- Fill work orders from production, package assemblies, and receive into finished goods.
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately logged and oversee cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
- Manage both domestic and international outgoing freight shipments (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.), ensuring proper, accurate, and timely dispatch of outbound shipments following all proper DOT regulations and customer requirements.
- Issue instructions to carriers; schedule and monitor carriers to provide on-time pickup and delivery.
- Create documents for international and domestic shipments, as well as shipping instructions.
- Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow.
- Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increase efficiency of work crew and equipment performance.
- Continuously improve warehouse operations and inventory control management using lean enterprise practices.
- Experience with international shipping, AES, and Incoterms.
- Proficiency in cycle counting.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Knowledge of logistics, inventory management, data entry, and SAP.
- Experience with ERP systems – ERP Priority is an advantage.
- At least 2 years of experience with International Export/Import compliance.
- Understanding and differentiating all terms within Incoterm.
- Familiarity with EEI, HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, and COO.
- Knowledge of BOM and pick/pack against Work Order.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work on complex problems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide guidance to various teams within Operations and Service.
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams as well as independently.
- Ability to work under pressure and for long periods of time.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
- Visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, perform repetitive motion activities, and lift up to 68 lbs.
- Proficiency in using a computer, keyboard, and mouse for long periods of time.
- ERP systems experience is a must.
- ERP Priority experience is an advantage.
- Ability to drive a forklift.
You will be part of a warehouse team of four people in a new building that is expanding this year. The position may occasionally require working longer than 8 hours a day.
