We are searching for a meticulous Bookkeeper to join our team in the retail industry. Based in Birmingham, Alabama, this role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. As a Bookkeeper, you will be accountable for maintaining accurate financial records, managing customer accounts, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.


Responsibilities:


• Manage and update financial records, ensuring their accuracy and completeness

• Handle customer credit applications in a precise and timely manner

• Stay on top of customer accounts and initiate necessary actions

• File business taxes in accordance with relevant laws and regulations

• Organize and code financial transactions and expenses for ease of analysis

• Perform account reconciliation tasks to maintain accurate records

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry and financial reporting tasks

• Use QuickBooks for bookkeeping and month-end close activities.

• Must possess skills in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is essential

• Prior experience in Bookkeeping is necessary

• Must have excellent Data Entry skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential

• Must have knowledge and experience in handling Payroll

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is required

• Experience in the retail industry is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary

• Must be detail-oriented and organized

• The ability to handle confidential information responsibly is required

• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, a degree in finance or a related field is preferred
