Job Summary

Compass has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Payroll Operations. This position is located at our Charlotte headquarters and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design Payroll Operations Quality Assurance program to include operational assessments required for issue identification and prevention
  • Design and implement root cause assessment methodology
  • Provide preventative solutions to minimize impact of payroll errors on operators and decrease rework inefficiencies within the Payroll Operations team
  • Design and manage metrics and metrics based platforms required to support the Payroll Operations
  • Develop strategic training approach and provide input to Payroll Training team to increase effectiveness of Payroll Operations team interface with customers
  • Responsible for automated reconciliations and process implementation including the application design, application development, testing, implementation and migration to Operations
  • Manage internal and external payroll projects related to Payroll Operations
  • Communicate complex and technical ideas with both technical and non-technical staff and management at all levels to obtain business owner acceptance of Quality Assurance program
  • Manage process improvement projects in liaison with Payroll Operations Managers
  • Assess financial and technical impact of projects
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Payroll Services provided to field operations, through continuous improvement in each Operations Team as well as coordination and communication between Payroll Operations and external departments.
  • Develop Customer Satisfaction strategies to achieve year on year improvement
  • Develop strategies to achieve SLAs with continuous improvement
  • Achieve Control Self-Assessment goals through the continuous review and implementation of controls needed to safeguard payroll

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 8+ years of payroll experience in multi-state environment
  • 8+ years of management experience
  • 5+ years SAP experience
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to effectively lead change within department and across organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • CPP preferred
