The Field Service Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering technical support for ATS Automation equipment to clients across North America. This position focuses on the control systems of ATS products, specifically involving Siemens and Rockwell PLC/HMI technologies. Your efforts will also contribute to the promotion of ATS After Sales Service maintenance agreements, service interventions, upgrades, and spare parts, as well as participating in SAT, IQ/OQ, and PQ activities for new installations.

This role encompasses various projects in the sectors of Radiopharma, Pharma, and Cell & Gene Therapy (ATMP) across North America, including:

  • Radiopharma: Engaging with shielded hot cells, automation modules for synthesis and dispensing, sterility testing isolators, and VPHP sterilization systems.
  • Pharma: Handling aseptic filling processes for liquid and powder APIs, custom R&D isolators, and fully automated filling systems.
  • Cell & Gene Therapy (ATMP): Working with modular cell culture isolators and incubation systems designed for advanced therapy labs.

Key Responsibilities:
Field Service:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain ATS Automation equipment at customer locations throughout North America.
  • Provide remote technical assistance via phone and online support (Help Desk level 1 & 2).
  • Utilize internal software to document and track machine issues through service tickets.
  • Conduct on-site service based on directives from the Service Planner, while preparing work reports and updating internal records.
  • Diagnose equipment issues promptly and communicate solutions effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a support engineer for Controls Engineering challenges, particularly with Siemens and Rockwell PLC/HMI systems.

Commercial:

  • Manage the shipping and receiving of customer orders and installation equipment.
  • Order and monitor spare parts and consumables inventory, ensuring critical stock availability.
  • Organize and maintain archives of user manuals and technical documentation related to installed equipment.
  • Negotiate maintenance packages and service contracts with clients.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and customers, while promoting ATS Automation's brand.
  • Pursue ongoing technical and product training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a five-year Industrial Technical diploma with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical disciplines, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in debugging and programming adjustments for ATS equipment, including Siemens and Rockwell PLCs/HMIs.
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues on industrial machinery.
  • Strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components, with the ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience with automation systems troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment under pressure.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong time-management abilities and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
