Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automated systems for the production of radiopharmaceuticals, integrating robotics, control mechanisms, and software solutions.
  • Develop detailed specifications and design documentation for automation initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to collect requirements and ensure successful project execution.
  • Evaluate existing production workflows to pinpoint automation prospects aimed at enhancing efficiency, lowering expenses, and improving product quality.
  • Establish process control methodologies and continuous enhancement strategies.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and resolve automation-related challenges.
  • Ensure that automated systems comply with industry regulations such as FDA, GMP, and ISO standards.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for validation, qualification, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and technical insights.
  • Supervise the upkeep and calibration of automated systems and machinery.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to guarantee system reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Offer technical guidance and training to production and maintenance personnel.
  • Oversee automation projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to procure essential equipment and services.
  • Monitor project advancement, manage potential risks, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze data from automated systems to detect trends, irregularities, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create reports detailing system performance, maintenance efforts, and project outcomes.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to support informed decision-making and process enhancement.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in automation and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Assess and recommend innovative automation technologies and tools.
  • Lead the creation and execution of groundbreaking solutions to optimize production processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, ideally within the pharmaceutical or radiopharmaceutical sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise with PLCs, SCADA systems, HMI programming, robotics, and control system architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of automation and control systems, including PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, and DCS.
  • Experience with robotics, vision systems, and motion control technologies.
  • Proficient in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Ladder Logic) and software applications (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
