Ingram Barge Company is currently looking for a Claims Management Specialist.

This hybrid position involves collaborating with team members in the administration of claims processes, encompassing a variety of clerical, administrative, and legal responsibilities.

A successful candidate will demonstrate proactive organization and a process-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing claims administrative functions
  • Providing guidance to both internal and external stakeholders on procedures essential for timely claim settlements
  • Managing incoming calls and directing inquiries regarding claim statuses while documenting interactions
  • Collecting updated W9 forms for Accounts Payable processing of claims
  • Overseeing all correspondence for the Claims department, including invoice preparation for medical bill evaluations
  • Handling digital invoices and uploading them to the OnBase system for Accounts Payable processing
  • Sending vendor authorizations to Accounts Payable for vendor payment setup
  • Preparing and distributing letters related to introductory and long-term disability for employees
  • Entering data for extended absence compensation and Voyage interruption compensation
  • Collaborating with Maintenance & Repair teams to gather necessary invoices for processing
  • Preparing and distributing maintenance spreadsheets for review and approval
  • Ordering departmental supplies as needed
  • Finalizing payments on inactive files and closing claims
  • Assisting with special projects as assigned

Claims Software Administration:
  • Approving payments and managing exports to Accounts Payable
  • Recording payments and managing exception reports
  • Assisting with system troubleshooting
  • Facilitating necessary updates
