Workers' Compensation Claims Manager

The Western Express Workers' Compensation Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing workers' compensation claims from initiation to resolution. This involves collaborating closely with associates, management, insurance providers, and legal experts to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage workers' compensation claims, including reporting, investigating, and tracking claims.
- Serve as the main point of contact for associates regarding workers' compensation issues, providing guidance and support throughout the claims process.
- Collaborate with HR, supervisors, and injured associates to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Liaise with insurance providers, legal professionals, and healthcare providers to facilitate the timely processing of claims and effective communication between all parties involved.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Coordinate and schedule medical appointments, evaluations, and treatments for injured associates as necessary.
- Monitor the progress of injured associates' recovery and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders, including HR, supervisors, and insurance providers.
- Document telephone conversations, witness statements, medical reports, and accident investigation results.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of workers' compensation claims data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to both associates and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple claims simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to assess and determine the validity of workers' compensation claims.
- Proficiency in using computer software (Excel, MS Word, Outlook) and databases to track and report on claims.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with various stakeholders.
