We are seeking a dedicated Recreational Activities Coordinator to become a vital part of our team.

Salary Range: $39,000 to $43,000 Annually

In this position, you will lead the activities department, focusing on the psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional wellness of our residents, their families, and our staff.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Ensuring the provision of meaningful therapeutic group activities, individual sessions, and tailored programs to meet the diverse needs of residents.
  • Overseeing resident care plans, progress documentation, and activity records.
  • Participating in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new team members for the activities department.
  • Supervising activity assistants and facilitating the recruitment and orientation of volunteers.
  • Managing scheduling and staffing, including overseeing assistants, payroll, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Engaging in administrative meetings, quality assurance meetings, and resident care discussions.
  • Overseeing the Customer Service Survey process to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Conducting monthly Resident Council meetings and addressing resident concerns effectively.
  • Advising and coordinating the Grievance Committee.
  • Planning and communicating activities and special events for residents, families, staff, and community members.
  • Coordinating private events for residents as requested by families.
  • Organizing outings and special lunches.
  • Scheduling entertainment and special programs.
  • Coordinating food-related activities in accordance with dietary requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining a monthly activities calendar that includes group activities, individual sessions, and themed weeks.
  • Managing the activity budget and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Sending invitations and announcements for special events to residents' families.
  • Facilitating voting processes for residents.
  • Driving the bus for resident outings.
  • Assisting in the implementation of staff retention initiatives.

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, with at least one year in a patient activities program in a healthcare environment.

OR

  • Eligibility for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist from a recognized accrediting body.

OR

  • Qualifications as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.

OR

  • Completion of a state-approved certification course for Activities.
