Role Summary
Full-time employees are eligible for a $3,000 retention bonus. This role involves providing support across our various locations. Under the guidance of the Lead Ophthalmic Technician, we are looking for passionate and proactive individuals to join our expanding team as Ophthalmic Technicians. The technician team plays a crucial role in patient care by conducting preliminary assessments and diagnostic tests essential for the physician's evaluation and treatment of eye conditions.
Responsibilities include collecting patient medical histories, performing initial eye function tests, and assisting with patient communications. Technicians may also administer prescribed eye medications and maintain medical instruments, as well as support surgical procedures, including Lasik Eye Surgery.
Qualifications
Ophthalmic Technicians are skilled professionals. This position can serve as a long-term career or a pathway to further opportunities in healthcare. After approximately one year in this role, team members can pursue nationally recognized certifications, which are funded by the practice to support professional growth. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:15 AM to 4:00 PM, with one Saturday shift per month.
Additional Information
Boston Vision operates multiple locations in the Metro-Boston area. Staff members are expected to be flexible and assist at different sites as needed. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between locations. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience in managing challenging customer interactions. Attention to detail and multitasking capabilities are essential. A proven background in high-level customer service is advantageous. Prior experience in Ophthalmology or Optometry is preferred.
