The Clinical Education Specialist plays a pivotal role in collaborating with the Director of Client Engagement to establish and uphold a comprehensive clinical education strategy. This position focuses on the development and execution of onboarding processes, educational initiatives, and the promotion of VITL's services among healthcare providers. The goal is to enhance the utilization of VITL's offerings and foster a deeper understanding of the health information exchange's benefits within the healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Knowledge & Engagement

  • Act as the primary clinical expert for VITL, providing insights during client discussions, project planning, and product/service launches.
  • Encourage the integration of health information exchange to improve patient care outcomes and streamline provider workflows.
  • Research and implement innovative strategies to assist clinicians and organizations in adopting VITL's services effectively.

Content Creation and Communication

  • Develop and enhance educational strategies aimed at current and prospective users of VITL's services.
  • Plan and execute a Clinical Education Roadmap, detailing all educational activities such as webinars, presentations, and training sessions.
  • Design and oversee the creation of educational materials that effectively communicate the clinical benefits of VITL's services.
  • Review and approve communication materials before distribution to ensure clarity and relevance for clinical end users.

Training and Development

  • Create educational guidelines and materials that outline standard content and workflows for the Engagement Team.
  • Assess educational needs and develop programming to support both new and existing users across various clinical environments.
  • Inspire and educate clinical end users on VITL's services, utilizing evidence-based practices to demonstrate their impact on patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a reliable resource for clinical end users regarding VITL services and health data sharing.
  • Travel to engage with end users for training, feedback, and workflow evaluation.
  • Implement a strategy for continuing education credits related to VITL's educational offerings.
  • Deliver presentations at conferences to advocate for the adoption of VITL's services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships to support effective education and training across client organizations.

User Engagement and Satisfaction

  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and Support Team to monitor user adoption and satisfaction with VITL services.
  • Develop tools to better understand provider needs and satisfaction, identifying opportunities for service enhancement.

Project Collaboration

  • Work alongside the Director of Client Engagement and Product Manager to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • Lead the educational components of projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
  • Support organization-wide initiatives aimed at process improvement.
  • Oversee special projects related to the clinical application of services.

Accountability and Independence:

The Clinical Education Specialist is expected to operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of VITL's services and strategic goals while providing leadership in support of various projects.

Collaboration:

This role involves working closely with VITL's technical and administrative staff, as well as engaging with providers and clinical leaders within client organizations.

Qualifications:

Education: Clinical degree or license is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in healthcare settings, such as hospitals or clinics.
  • Leadership experience in overseeing programs or services is preferred.
  • Experience in training and educating clinicians is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality measurement and improvement is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
