Clinical Nurse Specialist

Department Overview:
Delivers expert nursing care to individuals experiencing various health conditions through thorough assessment, strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of the nursing care strategy.
- The Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a vital role within nursing and interdisciplinary teams, offering direct patient care, education, and preparation for ongoing care post-discharge.
- May assume leadership responsibilities as operational requirements dictate.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Active RN licensure or compact licensure acknowledged by the relevant state is mandatory. The University of Vermont Health Network is progressing towards an entirely Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce.
All external applicants accepted into, or current staff elevated to, a nursing role will be mandated to secure their BSN as specified in the terms of their employment offer.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Relevant experience in the designated clinical specialty.
