Animal Care Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cage Washer at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Cage Washer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our animal care facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect animal cages and equipment according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning and follow established procedures for maintenance and repair.
- Assemble and autoclave animal cages, bedding, and water bottles for use in sterile housing.
- Ensure an adequate inventory of sterile cages is maintained to meet daily demands and emergency situations.
- Unpack and store feed and bedding supplies in a clean and organized manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the animal care facility.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds easily and stand for long periods of time.
- Previous cleaning experience and ability to work well with animals required.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment and meet deadlines.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working in an animal facility.
Monday-Friday, 8am-2pm.
