Job Title: Attending Veterinarian

Joinn Laboratories CA Inc. is seeking an experienced Attending Veterinarian to lead our animal care and research team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and oversight to ensure the health and well-being of our laboratory animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement laboratory animal science programs, including veterinary care and animal care, in compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Serve as Attending Veterinarian, providing direct day-to-day oversight of the animal care and use program.
  • Ensure all animal care-related activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and SOPs, and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards and regulations.
  • Partner with research teams to offer proactive guidance and expertise to inform decisions on protocols and procedures.
  • Provide expertise and consultation on matters of animal health and welfare, including anesthesia and analgesia, disease prevention and control, and animal behavior and enrichment.
  • Manage veterinary staff and provide training and development opportunities to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with the training program to develop and implement new techniques and procedural improvements.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of company policies, state and federal regulations, and other assignments required to support the animal care program.
Requirements:
  • Accredited veterinary school degree and 10 years of related training and laboratory animal medicine experience.
  • License to practice Veterinary Medicine in California.
  • Experience with biosafety, crisis management, and occupational health & safety training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various levels of personnel, clients, and vendors.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of study protocols and IACUC processes involved.
