POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vocational Support Specialist is responsible for delivering Supported Employment (SE) services aimed at assisting individuals in securing and maintaining employment that aligns with their career aspirations and recovery objectives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Builds trusting and collaborative relationships with clients to facilitate competitive employment opportunities in integrated work environments.
  • Continuously evaluates clients' vocational capabilities to ensure appropriate support and guidance.
  • Utilizes Supported Employment (SE) methodologies to aid clients in job development and search processes tailored to their preferences and requirements.
  • Offers personalized follow-up services to ensure clients can maintain their employment.
  • Provides education and support to employers, including negotiating job accommodations and maintaining ongoing communication.
  • Conducts outreach to clients who may be disengaging from SE services to re-engage them in the process.
  • Regularly collaborates with treatment team members to integrate vocational services into the overall mental health treatment plan.
  • Develops and updates individual employment plans in partnership with clients and treatment team members.
  • Spends a significant portion of work hours engaging with clients, their families, and employers in community settings.
  • Participates in mandatory training and meetings as required by regulatory bodies.
  • Adheres to established protocols and coordinates referrals to specialized employment providers as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as needed that align with the core responsibilities of the role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in providing employment services, preferably with individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess necessary certifications as required. A valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance may be required.
