Job Title: Radiation Oncology Nurse

JobRialto is seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team. As a Radiation Oncology Nurse, you will play a critical role in the delivery of high-quality patient care in a radiation oncology setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer radiation therapy treatments, including positioning patients and adjusting machinery to ensure proper treatment is received.
  • Monitor patients' health during treatment to ensure they are responding well to treatment and to identify any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Take and record X-ray images of patients' bodies to determine the location of tumors for radiation treatment planning.
  • Collect data about each patient's condition and treatment progress, which may be used to develop new treatments or improve existing ones.
  • Provide emotional support to patients who are receiving treatment for cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.
  • Supervise technicians who assist with administering treatments.
  • Report any safety concerns to the appropriate staff member.
  • Explain the effects of radiation treatment to patients in terms of its impact on their health and wellbeing.
Requirements:
  • Education: The minimum education requirement for a radiation oncology nurse is a diploma or an associate degree in nursing.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
