Job Summary:

LifeSpan is seeking a highly skilled Hematology Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct episodic healthcare to patients with cancer, including prevention, acute symptomatic, and palliative care.
  • Practice collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Participate in the development of patient care plans with registered nurses and attending physicians.
  • Provide educational and liaison support to healthcare team members.
  • Participate in clinical research projects, including data acquisition, entry, and analysis.
  • Assist in quality improvement teams and other committees as needed.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with an MS degree.
  • Certified by the American Nurses Association (ANA) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to practice in the expanded role.
  • License must include prescriptive privileges.
  • Completed a course in American Heart Association Basic Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • OCN credentialing within two years of employment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Healthcare environment, such as acute care hospitals, physician offices, and ancillary healthcare enterprises. Hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions.
