Medical Director of Radiation Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Physicist to lead our Radiation Oncology department at Brown University Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the clinical, research, and educational activities of the department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and advancing the field of radiation oncology.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans for the department, aligning with the hospital's mission and goals.
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
- Conduct and participate in research projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to advance the understanding and treatment of cancer.
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and staff, promoting education and professional development within the department.
- Manage and supervise staff, ensuring the effective operation of the department and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Doctorate degree in physics or medical physics, with board certification in Radiation Oncology Physics or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of experience in Radiation Oncology Physics, with progressively more responsible leadership and management experience.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to design, develop, and evaluate research and development projects.
- Proven track record of publishing in peer-reviewed literature and securing grant funding for research projects.
The successful candidate will be exposed to low-level radiation and will be required to wear a badge to monitor exposure. Travel to scientific meetings and conferences may be required.
