Brown University Health is seeking a qualified Medical Physicist to join our team in the Department of Radiation Oncology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical physics services, conducting research, and teaching residents and students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement protocols for accurate patient dosimetry
- Measure and characterize radiation to determine delivered dose
- Consult with physicians regarding treatment planning
- Develop and maintain radiotherapy and radiosurgery quality assurance programs
- Conduct and participate in departmental research and development projects
- Teach residents and students in the department
- MS or PhD degree in physics or medical physics
- Appropriate Board Certification
- Qualifications sufficient for a faculty appointment at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University
- Interpersonal skills to teach and supervise students and to interact with other members of the professional and support staffs
The successful candidate will be exposed to low-level radiation and will be required to wear a badge to monitor exposure. The candidate will also be required to maneuver and setup dosimetric phantoms for radiation measurements.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThe Medical Physicist will provide supervision and shall be available for consultation to other physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists as required.
