Position Overview

This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive high-quality healthcare services that are both compassionate and efficient. The team member will play a vital part in supporting the mission of the health center by facilitating access to care that meets the needs of patients with a focus on satisfaction and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide courteous and efficient assistance to patients and visitors, ensuring they are connected with the appropriate services and staff promptly.
  • Manage patient intake processes, including signing in, updating demographic information, confirming payment methods, and validating insurance coverage.
  • Handle incoming calls at the front desk, directing them to the relevant personnel and documenting messages accurately.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling for patients and conduct reminder calls prior to their visits.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accepted health insurance plans and ensure accurate billing documentation.
  • Assist in fee assessment for patients, including cash collection and reconciliation of payments.
  • Maintain both electronic and paper patient records with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Perform various clerical duties such as filing, typing, faxing, and copying documents.
  • Oversee the distribution of incoming mail and manage the ordering of necessary supplies for the office.
  • Ensure compliance with all health center policies and procedures, including OSHA guidelines.
  • Support the coordination of transportation services for patients as needed.
  • Take responsibility for securing the facility at the end of the business day.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a healthcare or dental facility.
  • Familiarity with electronic practice management systems.
  • Strong mathematical skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficient in word processing and computer applications.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Primarily involves sitting at a desk or workstation.
Additional Information

This position is classified as Non-Exempt. Compensation will be determined based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications and experience.
