Role Summary: The primary responsibility of the Advocate is to deliver personalized crisis intervention and continuous case management for youth survivors of sex trafficking. This role requires sound professional judgment and adherence to best practices to ensure high-quality services while complying with established program, state, and federal regulations.

Compensation Package: Annual Salary + Benefits

Work Schedule: 40-50 hours per week, with evening, weekend, and holiday availability required. Flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel within the local area and occasional out-of-state travel for client transportation, training, meetings, and visits.

Work Environment: This role involves working in various settings, including office environments and community locations, often in high-risk areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to calls from law enforcement and referral sources, ensuring timely arrival at the victim's location.
  • Address immediate physical needs of youth, such as clothing, food, and hygiene products.
  • Provide ongoing field-based advocacy, case management, and emotional support.
  • Independently manage referrals, service planning, and documentation for assigned cases.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop service plans, making independent decisions regarding the safety and well-being of youth.
  • Facilitate transportation to appointments and services with parental or guardian consent.
  • Maintain regular communication with assigned survivors, meeting weekly if local and monthly if placed out-of-town.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create and update safety plans for survivors.
  • Participate in external case staffings and emergency response meetings.
  • Document all interactions with survivors and their families within a specified timeframe.
  • Alert supervisors to challenging situations and recognize concerning behaviors.
  • Support non-offending family members to foster a positive home environment for the victim.
  • Adopt a service-oriented approach, ensuring a helpful and collaborative experience for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure case management aligns with trauma-informed, survivor-centered practices.
  • Commit to regular supervision and participate in resilience groups.
  • Complete required reports and participate in team meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
  • Experience working with victims of human trafficking or youth facing abuse, neglect, or homelessness.
  • Lived experience of trafficking or exploitation is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of case management or crisis intervention experience is preferred.
  • Trained in trauma-informed care.
