Job Summary

American Greetings is a leading provider of social expression products, and we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Retail Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for training and developing our merchandising team to ensure exceptional customer experiences and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with our Field Manager to identify training needs and develop customized training programs for our merchandising team.
  • Communicate effectively with new and existing merchandisers to schedule training sessions, provide feedback, and mentorship.
  • Train on various duties, including servicing orders, inventory management, and organizational activities, as well as seasonal tasks such as seasonal changeovers, display maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Build strong relationships with store personnel to promote our brand and drive sales.
  • Identify and arrange coverage for vacant stores within your area.
  • Continuously work on improving store performance and ensuring merchandisers are successful.
  • Responsible for merchandising your own small route of stores.
Revision Responsibilities
  • Work with our Field Manager and store personnel on major revision activities, including setup, execution, and follow-up.
  • Knowledge of various fixture types and ability to build fixtures as needed, as well as understanding of planograms, cabinet diagrams, and other revision-specific materials.
  • Effectively assign tasks and manage a team during revisions to complete the job.
  • Constant communication with our Field Manager on all aspects of revision, including follow-up throughout the process.
Requirements
  • Training and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Retail or merchandising experience a plus.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and detail-oriented skills required.
  • Technological competency – ability to learn and use technology effectively.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • May require extensive time in a vehicle.
