Executive Sous Chef Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at The Charmant Hotel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain responsibility for day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring seamless execution of menus and services.
  • Assist the Culinary Director in menu creation, costing, and allergen matrix development.
  • Oversee banquet event orders and lead the kitchen in banquet preparation and execution.
  • Supervise, train, and develop back-of-house staff, ensuring excellent service and labor management.
  • Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of dishes at an elevated level.
  • Oversee purchasing, receiving, and inventory of kitchen items.
Requirements:
  • Culinary arts degree or equivalent training with three or more years of culinary lead or supervisory experience.
  • Strong background in classic French technique.
  • Excellent people skills and a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic demeanor.
  • Thorough understanding of excellent service, labor, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, fumes, steam, and noise.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing and walking.
