IT Systems Administrator

Job Summary
The Systems Administrator is an IT technical support role focused on providing local R&D IT support and enterprise IT support.
Responsibilities
- Provide local technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Respond to IT support tickets and provide timely resolution to technical issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Manage and maintain Windows desktop and server environments.
- Perform some Linux administration and maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain VMware vCenter and ESXi virtualization environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot Aruba/HP switches and Aruba wireless infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to implement and support specialized IT systems and applications.
- Provide IT assistance with employee onboarding and user access permissions for R&D systems including Propel, Jira, Jama and others.
- Coordinate with Corporate Enterprise IT at Fresenius Kabi and Fresenius Digital Technology and follow IT change control procedures.
- Conduct proactive maintenance to ensure the reliability and performance of IT systems.
- Assist in the implementation of IT projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with local and global organizational goals.
- Document IT processes, procedures and configurations for knowledge sharing and reference purposes.
- Develop and maintain system design specification as required.
- Ensure that security is administered for all network attached and standalone computer systems.
- Ensure that all critical data on all computer systems are protected and recoverable in the event of a system failure by backup to removable media or other approved means.
- Maintain an inventory of all computer hardware and software purchased and licensed by the target user community and provide related reports to Management upon request.
- Log information on general network performance, server health, user requests and incidents, and project status in accordance with software procedures.
- Assist with audits for compliance to cGMP regulations and follow software procedures to ensure compliance among all Enterprise systems.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance IT support services
Requirements
- Associate degree in IT Administration or related field experience required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in IT support roles.
- Proficiency in Windows desktop and server administration as well as some Linux administration and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi virtualization.
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols, particularly with Aruba/HP switches and wireless infrastructure.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
