Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager to join our team at Enginuity Advantage. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, developing and delivering project teams, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Manage client relationships with Fortune 100 clients and/or public sector and government entities.
  • Project Team Development: Develop and collaborate with the marketing group for content development, including project team resumes, process diagrams, project approach philosophy, specific design philosophy, project profiles, case studies, and website content.
  • Technical QC Review: Collaborate and technical QC review on RFQ and RFP project opportunity responses.
  • Industry Presentations: Participate in industry topic presentations.
  • Project Team Interviews: Participate and lead project team interviews.

Workload and Financial Management:

  • Project Team Workload Management: Manage assigned project teams' workload, team organizational structure, project milestones, and key task deliverables.
  • Workload Forecasting: Maintain and update monthly workload forecasting summaries.
  • Fee Proposal Development: Lead and support fee proposal development; ensure fee consistency between client types and project types.
  • Financial Performance Monitoring: Monitor and track financial performance on projects.
  • Additional Services Request Submission: Monitor and track the need for evaluating additional services request submission.
  • Billing Review Reports: Process billing review reports (BRRs) for assigned business sectors, clients, and projects.
  • Draft Invoices: Review draft invoices.
  • Client Accounts Receivable: Manage client accounts receivable (AR) for assigned business sectors, clients, and projects.
  • Workload Design and Construction Task Deliverables: Establish workload design and construction task deliverable sequences and process to manage teams, train teams on time management, implement approaches to drive performance efficiencies.

Staff Management, Development, and Training:

  • Training Sessions and Mentoring: Develop training sessions and mentoring for staff, brown bags, or technical seminars.
  • Staff Certifications and Continuing Education: Manage staff certifications, continuing education, and associated renewals.
  • Internal Improvement: Recognize areas for internal improvement and develop plans for improvement.
  • Employee Performance Review: Review employee performance and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Talent Gap Identification: Identify gaps in talent and develop recommendations for improvements.
  • Employee Supervision: Supervise employees, including selecting, training, assigning, and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and/or terminating.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations and interact effectively at all levels and across diverse corporate cultures.
  • System and Technology Experience: Significant experience with various system types and manufacturers.
  • Technology Understanding: General understanding of various technologies and emerging technologies and systems.
  • Local and National Codes Client Standards: Detailed understanding of local and national codes client standards.
  • Owner's Performance Requirements and Basis of Design Documents: Maintain owner's performance requirements and basis of design documents.
  • Client Specifications and Part Numbers: Develop and maintain client specifications, part numbers, details, etc.
  • Standards for Construction Documentation: Develop and maintain standards for construction documentation.
  • Client-Facing Reports for New and Emerging Technology Standards: Evaluate and develop client-facing reports for new and emerging technology standards.

Documentation and Process Implementation:

  • CAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Understanding: Understanding of CAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
  • Specification Creation: Specification creation from masters within Microsoft Word.
  • Cost Opinions Creation: Cost opinions creation from masters within Microsoft Excel.
  • Drawing Development Look and Feel Consistency: Drawing development look and feel consistency by business sector, client type, and project type.
  • Design and Installation Details: Clear understanding of design and installation details.
  • Control Diagrams: Clear understanding of control diagrams.
  • Commissioning Documentation and Requirements: Clear understanding of commissioning documentation and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 10-15 years in the industry.
  • Construction Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years working in the construction industry; plan spec or design build.
  • Client Contact Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct client contact in consulting or construction fields.
  • Professional Presentations: Minimum 5 years in developing and delivering professional presentations on program status and opportunities for improvements.
  • Construction Delivery Methods: Thorough understanding of construction delivery methods (Design build, Design bid build, Negotiated contract).
  • Building Types Experience: Experience in at least two building types, i.e., Education, Retail, Commercial TI, etc.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Team Management Experience: Experience managing internal and external teams within the engineering fields.
  • Detailed Scopes of Work and Professional Contracts: Experience developing detailed scopes of work and reviewing professional contracts.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Systems Coordination: Thorough working knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems for team coordination.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a technical resource for others throughout the firm, providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise.
  • PMP Certification: Recommended not required - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through PMI.

Company Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $110k - $150k (DOE).
