About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Healthcare Sector team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. as a Principal Engineer. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and manage a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development and Marketing
    • Develop and execute strategic business plans to grow the Healthcare Sector practice in the Seattle area.
    • Interface with other architectural, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering leaders to contribute to the integrated design practice.
    • Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, and partner firms.
  • People and Practice Management
    • Lead a team of engineering project managers, designers, and CAD/Revit production team members.
    • Identify and forecast staff needs and assignments based on current and projected workload and SME requirements.
    • Hold project team members accountable for technical excellence, delivery standards, and best practices.
  • Project Design and Delivery
    • Work with project managers and subject matter experts to develop and deliver client drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, and other deliverables.
    • Successfully manage projects of significant scope, complexity, and revenue budget.
    • Apply buildings engineering and project management knowledge while leading cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Maintain awareness of operational, technical, or regulatory changes within Mechanical Engineering and AEC industry overall, disseminate such knowledge to team and firm, and integrate into existing processes and standards.
    • Assist to maintain and update Health Sector Engineering specifications, technical documentation, and standards in collaboration with other technical resources within Stantec.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
    • 15 or more years of related professional experience.
    • Professional Engineering license required.
    • Project Management Professional certification a plus.
    • LEED AP Credential preferred.
    • Obtained ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification or similar specific to engineering discipline.
    What We Offer
    • Competitive salary range: $137,500 - $206,300.
