Overview

We are seeking a strategic and growth-oriented leader to manage our Dairy Queen establishment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and nurturing a reliable team. The manager will mentor, support, and enhance the capabilities of crew members and shift leaders.
  • Fostering a positive rapport with all restaurant personnel. Creating and maintaining a collaborative and enjoyable work atmosphere that boosts employee morale, productivity, and efficiency is essential.
  • Recruiting, training, and mentoring shift managers while conducting formal employee performance evaluations.
  • Ensuring the team is prepared to deliver an outstanding guest experience across all service areas.
  • Utilizing the restaurant's financial reports to maximize sales and profitability by analyzing costs and implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Managing inventory, forecasting demand fluctuations throughout the year, and adjusting staffing levels accordingly.
  • Guaranteeing that the restaurant is adequately staffed to meet sales targets. Preparing crew schedules and approving schedules submitted by assistant managers to fulfill staffing needs and labor objectives.
  • Addressing customer complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction while identifying opportunities for team improvement.
  • Coordinating and executing local marketing initiatives, along with integrating regional and national promotional campaigns to enhance restaurant sales.
  • Exercising sound judgment in decision-making and reporting any issues to the district manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in restaurant management is required, with a strong preference for quick-service restaurant experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Candidates should possess a strong sense of urgency, thrive in high-pressure situations, and have the ability to inspire their team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, along with the ability to engage with a diverse range of crew members and customers.
  • A proven history of effective management, demonstrated through previous cost and labor management.
  • Successful candidates will be detail-oriented and capable of overseeing and balancing all aspects of a dynamic restaurant environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds is necessary.
  • A strong sense of ownership is crucial. The ideal leader is as available to their restaurant as a parent would be to their child; beyond their scheduled shifts, a manager should be accessible to their team or ensure that someone is present to support their crew in their absence.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience.
