Job Summary

Bowman Engineering and Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our project controls group, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule Analysis: Conduct comprehensive CPM-based schedule analyses to identify, measure, and report schedule performance.
  • Technical Reporting: Develop and maintain technical project monitoring reports on a monthly basis.
  • Claim Review: Review Time Impact Analysis (TIA) claims and develop alternative analyses, recommendations, and negotiation positions to resolve schedule and cost claims.
  • Site Visits: Conduct periodic construction site visits and document project schedule performance.
  • Plan Review: Perform technical reviews of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Program Scheduling: Develop and review program-level schedules for full project life-cycle.
  • Client Representation: Represent the client in meetings with contractors, oversight agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Estimating: Develop Engineer's estimates and Independent Cost Estimates, including performing quantity take-offs and developing unit prices.
  • Cost Analysis: Support project managers in cost analysis, cost tracking, earned value management, and change management.
  • Risk Assessment: Support qualitative and quantitative schedule and cost risk assessment for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Certifications: EIT or PE Certification.
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in project controls and construction management on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Skills: Experience with Primavera P6, RSMEANS, and Microsoft Project; time impact analysis and CPM analysis; schedule analysis tools such as Schedule Analyzer or Acumen Fuse.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrated proficiency in using Primavera P6; strong technical writing experience; excellent verbal/written communication skills; strong team player with ability to build and maintain internal and client relationships.
