We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Animal Control Specialist to join our team at the City of University Park, TX. As an Animal Control Specialist, you will be responsible for enforcing animal control laws and regulations, providing education and outreach to the community, and responding to animal-related emergencies.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce Animal Control Laws and Regulations: Patrol city limits, respond to animal-related calls, and issue citations and warnings as necessary.
- Provide Education and Outreach: Educate citizens on animal safety and welfare, provide instruction on removing nuisance animals, and coordinate trap lending services.
- Respond to Animal-Related Emergencies: Perform animal rescue duties, including picking up animals, freeing trapped animals, and removing animals from inhumane conditions.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for this position.
- Basic Animal Control Certification: Basic Animal Control certification is required within one year of employment.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergency situations, and working with animals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling domesticated animals and urban wildlife.
