Position Summary:

The role of Commercial Driver / Fuel Technician involves the transportation of Hazardous Waste (including RCRA & Non-RCRA materials such as Diesel, Gas, Oil, Oily Solids, and Oily Water) from various job sites. This position requires a balance between driving and technical responsibilities, including loading and unloading drums at each site while adhering to strict safety protocols.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting pre-trip inspections and preparing necessary tools and equipment for daily tasks.
  • Driving significant distances to job sites, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Engaging with client representatives at job sites.
  • Delivering and collecting barrels at multiple client locations.
  • Monitoring tank systems for alarms or notifications.
  • Inspecting and managing waste drums, including identification, profiling, and labeling.
  • Climbing to heights of up to 10 feet for equipment positioning and securing barrels.
  • Completing daily work orders accurately.
  • Following health and safety regulations diligently.
Required Experience:
  • 2-3 years of driving experience, including maneuvering large trucks.
  • 2-3 years of experience with Class A or B licenses.
  • Possession of a clean Class A or B Driver's License; endorsements for Tankers and/or HazMat are preferred.
  • Experience with drivers' logbooks.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on visibility within the company.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with the petroleum industry.
  • Understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Knowledge of Veeder Root systems and relevant regulations; HazWoper and fall protection experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email and fillable PDFs.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to drive long distances, potentially up to 1,000 miles weekly.
  • Capability to navigate various job site terrains.
  • Ability to interpret machine diagnostic reports.
  • Capacity to lift and transport barrels weighing up to 500 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to climb heights of up to 10 feet using appropriate safety measures.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $25/hr - $35/hr.
