Position Summary:

The role of Commercial Driver / Fuel Technician involves the transportation of Hazardous Waste (including RCRA & Non-RCRA materials such as Diesel, Gas, Oil, Oily Solids, and Oily Water) from various job sites. This position entails a combination of driving and technician responsibilities, requiring the individual to load and unload drums at each site while adhering to strict safety protocols.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting pre-trip inspections and preparing the vehicle with necessary tools and equipment.
  • Driving to multiple job sites daily, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Engaging with client representatives at job sites.
  • Delivering and retrieving barrels at client locations, visiting up to six sites each day.
  • Monitoring tank systems for alarms and notifications.
  • Inspecting and managing waste drums, including identification, profiling, and labeling.
  • Climbing and securing equipment during transportation.
  • Completing daily work orders and adhering to safety protocols.

Required Experience:
  • 2-3 years of driving experience, including maneuvering large trucks.
  • 2-3 years of experience with a Class A or B license.
  • Clean driving record with a Class A or B Driver's License; endorsements for Tankers and/or HazMat preferred.
  • Experience with driver logbooks.
  • Ability to work overtime and travel as needed.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the petroleum industry.
  • Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Understanding of Veeder Root systems and current regulations.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email and fillable PDFs.

Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to drive long distances, occasionally up to 1,000 miles weekly.
  • Ability to navigate various job site terrains.
  • Capacity to read and interpret diagnostic reports.
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy barrels with assistance.
  • Comfort with climbing heights of up to 10 feet.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $25/hr - $35/hr.
