Position Overview

The clinical pharmacist is tasked with the preparation and distribution of medications for patients across all age groups, adhering to medication orders. This role also encompasses providing medication-related information and clinical support to both patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehend and apply State and Federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Evaluate, interpret, and manage medication orders to ensure patient safety.
  • Facilitate safe medication practices and liaise with healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee daily operations and enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Encourage cost-effective medication usage and resource allocation.
  • Conduct inspections of units and deliver medication education.
  • Monitor medication utilization for safety enhancements.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and mentor pharmacy students.
  • Exhibit professional conduct and contribute to patient satisfaction.
  • Comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Engage in professional associations.
Qualifications

A Pharm.D. or B.S. Degree is required. Previous residency or hospital experience (3-5 years) is preferred. A current pharmacy license in Alabama is mandatory. Active participation in professional organizations is highly encouraged.
