The Sales Planning Analyst is an essential member of the Wholesale Sales Analytics team, providing continuous analytical support. This position collaborates with sales, product, and manufacturing teams, responsible for analyzing sales demand and planning for a segment of the wholesale channel. The role aims to deliver data-driven insights to monitor current initiatives and identify trends that will inform both internal and external strategies. Key attributes include a solid foundation in sales demand forecasting and data trend analysis to assess business opportunities and generate accurate forecasts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multi-state sales teams and manufacturing to create sales demand plans at both account and product levels.
  • Support the monthly account/product line build process and the development of sales plans.
  • Examine third-party market and retailer sell-through point-of-sale data, reporting findings to management.
  • Formulate strategies for growth and profitability through the analysis of retail performance.
  • Regularly research market intelligence to ensure demand forecasts remain precise and current.
  • Track sales performance trends to uncover issues and opportunities.
  • Deliver standardized Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) reporting and develop forecast accuracy metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Oversee multi-state sales programming initiatives aimed at developing sales plans.
  • Continuously enhance and refine forecasting techniques, methods, and approaches.
  • Monitor and assess sales team performance, providing analytical recommendations.
  • Manage reporting for assigned territory representative goals and the reforecasting of account landings.
  • Analyze distributor sales, inventory turnover, forecasting, and production pipelines.
  • Assist leadership with ad hoc reporting requirements as directed.
  • Perform tasks under direct supervision, addressing basic issues and referring more complex matters to senior staff.
  • Exhibit diligence, punctuality, and readiness to work.
  • Execute additional duties as necessary to support business objectives as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; VBA experience is a plus.

  • Coachable, highly motivated, and driven to achieve success.
  • Possesses foundational to intermediate knowledge of relevant subject matter.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain Management, or four years of relevant experience.
  • Three or more years of prior analytical analysis and planning experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) within mid to large-sized company sales operations environments (preferably in cannabis, beverage, apparel, or food industries).
  • Experience with CRM and ERP platforms for reporting and planning.
  • Familiarity with forecasting software and models.
  • Experience working with sales demand planning teams and/or procurement partners.

Requirements

  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Available for on-site operations work Monday through Friday.
  • Work is project and objective-oriented, not hour-based; must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to undergo cross-training in various roles within the department as required.

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and/or working on a computer.

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
