Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Registered Nurse (RN) role is integral to supporting a contractor under the U.S Department of Labor's Job Corps initiative. This federally funded program aims to equip eligible youth aged 16-24 with essential technical and academic skills, alongside job placement support.
Key Responsibilities:
The RN will collaborate with the Health and Wellness Director to design, execute, and assess a comprehensive Wellness Program tailored to the needs of students while aligning with Job Corps' objectives.
- Facilitates the Wellness Program by delivering care, conducting assessments, triaging, and providing treatment.
- Contributes insights to the Health & Wellness Director, Physician, and Mental Health Consultant regarding the management of students' health concerns.
- Orients students to Health Services, ensuring they are well-informed about available resources.
- Assists in training center staff in health-related topics as directed by the Health & Wellness Director.
- Coordinates health and safety initiatives across the Center.
- Guarantees that quality services are consistently provided to both trainees and staff.
- Supports students in enhancing their employability skills.
- Develops innovative strategies to boost participation in health and wellness activities within the Center.
- Ensures a secure and safe environment for all.
- Adheres to OSHA regulations and guidelines.
- Assists in managing medication, including inventory, ordering, and monitoring controlled substances and prescriptions.
- Keeps precise records related to medication handling, storage, and disposal.
- Maintains compliance with medical record-keeping standards as mandated by DOL, Corporate, and Center regulations.
- Provides emergency care on-call as needed.
- Implements and oversees infection control protocols within Health Services and throughout the Center.
- Fulfills additional responsibilities as assigned by the Department Director.
- Supervises the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in accordance with state-specific nursing regulations.
- Demonstrates proactive behavior, completing tasks efficiently and effectively, while exercising sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Maintains accurate electronic and hard copy files to meet compliance standards.
- Manages budgetary concerns, oversees inventory, and ensures the department is well-maintained and organized.
- Initiates work orders for repairs and ensures timely completion.
- Upholds confidentiality and integrity in all operations.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
- A minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
- Proficient in computer skills and possesses excellent communication abilities.
Certifications:
- Valid state driver's license.
- CPR/First Aid certifications.
- Registered Nursing License.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform essential job functions, which may include lifting up to 50 pounds and engaging in various physical activities.
Work Environment:
Employees are expected to maintain a safe workplace, conduct daily safety inspections, and adhere to safe work practices. The role may involve exposure to outdoor conditions and varying noise levels.
