Department Overview:
The Main Operating Room (OR) features 14 surgical suites, including specialized rooms for endovascular procedures, open-heart surgeries, and pediatric care. Our surgical services encompass a wide range of specialties, ensuring comprehensive care for both adult and pediatric patients. The OR operates around the clock, with dedicated staff available to meet the needs of our patients.
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in coordinating patient care by collaborating with various healthcare professionals. Utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking, the nurse ensures patient safety and well-being. Some roles may require specialized training in critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care and assess outcomes, adjusting care plans as necessary to maintain safety and quality.
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments and develop individualized care strategies, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, addressing any unusual occurrences or patient concerns promptly.
- Educate patients and families about care processes, reinforcing instructional needs and providing relevant resources.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, consulting with specialists as needed to optimize care delivery.
- Identify and address workplace health and safety issues proactively.
- Utilize aseptic techniques in providing care and managing IV lines, ensuring patient safety during procedures.
- Comply with all organizational policies and standards, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Mentor and orient new staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Some positions may necessitate additional specialized training.
Experience: A minimum of one year of nursing experience in an acute care environment is preferred. Specific roles may require additional experience in specialized areas.
Licensure: Current RN licensure in Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are mandatory. Advanced certifications may be required for certain departments.
Skills and Abilities:
