Position Overview:

The Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating clinical operations, encompassing both direct and indirect patient care, while assisting clinical supervisors and physicians with infection control, inventory management, and equipment upkeep.

The role involves supporting clinical tasks under the authorized direction of physicians.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare daily examination rooms in the clinical setting for patient consultations, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.

Guide patients to examination rooms, recording vital signs and collecting urine samples; perform dip and automated urinalysis and microscopic preparation and review as needed.

Manage patient inquiries regarding pharmacy requests, test results, medical questions, and concerns as directed by the physician; document outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).

Assist in maintaining all logs and records in compliance with OSHA/MOSHA regulations.
Follow sterilization and disinfection protocols throughout the facility.
Comply with biohazardous waste policies and procedures for the proper disposal of biomedical waste.
May greet and welcome all patients and visitors in person or via phone.

Qualifications:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.

Completion of a Medical Assistant program or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is required; experience in urology is advantageous.

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is mandatory and will be verified prior to employment; Medical Assistant Certification is preferred (Arizona only).

Proficiency in patient triage, phlebotomy, administering injections, obtaining vital signs, and processing specimens is essential.

Travel Requirements:
Must possess the ability and willingness to travel to various sites as necessary within the designated region.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional customer service skills.
Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
Proficient understanding of medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 Codes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in computer software and database management.
Comfortable engaging with patients over the phone and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to ask probing questions to patients with confidence.
Must exhibit a caring, compassionate, and patient demeanor.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Ability to multitask and proactively solve problems.
Exhibit a high level of professionalism.
Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to listen, sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk throughout the day.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Must be in good physical condition to assist patients when necessary.
