* Abide by and enforce all compliance requirements and policies, performing duties in an ethical manner consistent with our organization's values.
* Participate in the evaluation of environmental and safety issues, intervening as necessary.
* Assist with the orientation of new employees as assigned.
* Utilize proper body mechanics when moving equipment and maintaining a clean work area.
* Respond to call lights and relay information to nursing personnel.
* Run errands to support unit needs and process requests during computer downtime.
* Check unit census and update condition codes.
* Utilize the Hospital Information System to enter requests, schedule procedures, order supplies, and process patient charges.
* Complete patient transfers and discharges, and update patient diet needs daily.
* Serve as a receptionist, answering the telephone in a prompt and courteous manner.
* Perform general clerical duties, preparing unit admission packs and monitoring patient charts.
* Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and the healthcare team.
* Maintain accurate and complete records, updating kardex as needed.
* Participate in Performance Improvement activities and committees as assigned.
* Regular and prompt attendance, with the ability to work a defined schedule and overtime as required.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent.
