Job Summary

Derick Dermatology PLLC is seeking a highly skilled Medical Administrative Assistant to join our team. This remote part-time position will provide comprehensive administrative and patient support services using advanced virtual technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to US HIPAA laws and other relevant regulations.

Responsibilities will include assisting with billing and coding activities, scheduling and contact center activities, and acting as a liaison between providers and patients to support ongoing care.

Additional requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, friendly and professional demeanor, and a reliable high-speed internet connection and quiet workspace.

This is a part-time position up to 20 hours per week, scheduled in 4-hour increments during the week.

Derick Dermatology PLLC will provide the necessary equipment for the work-from-home environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with billing and coding activities, including evaluating medical record documentation, collecting and managing insurance and patient payments, and monitoring claim status.
  2. Support scheduling and contact center activities, including answering inbound calls and collecting and documenting patient medical history.
  3. Act as a liaison between providers and patients, providing pathology and laboratory results, completing medical records requests, and processing prescription refill requests.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, healthcare specific training preferred but not required.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Empathy and a caring attitude towards patients.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to US HIPAA laws and other relevant regulations.

Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, private workspace.
