Medical Records Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Technician to join our team at Crowne Health Care. As a Medical Records Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of patient records.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patient charts and gather information and documents from patients
  • Code patient records using ICD-10
  • Ensure that medical records are organized, accurate, and complete
  • Create digital copies of paperwork and store records electronically
  • Filing paperwork and reports of inpatients quickly and accurately
  • Safeguard patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Transfer data into the facility's central system database
  • Process records for admitting and discharging patients
Requirements:
  • Experience in medical records
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification
  • Strong data entry skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Basic computer skills to scan, organize, and access electronic health records
