Department: GG_Sustainable Development: Planning

Salary Range: $68,979.59 - $105,083.94

Position Overview:

This role involves advanced professional and technical tasks utilizing geographic information systems (GIS), computer-aided design (CAD), asset management, and engineering technology in relation to automated mapping and facilities management systems. This position operates under limited supervision and is distinguished by its focus on geomatics and utility mapping applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct spatial analysis utilizing advanced GIS tools.
  2. Create, modify, and manage spatial data from diverse sources, including CAD drawings and GPS data.
  3. Extract and compile GIS data for integration with other software applications.
  4. Prepare draft engineering sketches and concept drawings using hand-drafting techniques and software for technical reporting.
  5. Perform engineering analyses to ensure the integrity of system designs.
  6. Train external contractors on compliance with organizational policies.
  7. Support the GIS and Operational Systems Coordinator in managing user profiles within the maintenance management system.
  8. Provide updates and reports for the strategic asset management plan.
  9. Analyze asset performance for maintenance and replacement recommendations.
  10. Monitor key performance indicators and collaborate with management to enhance operational efficiencies.
  11. Oversee data quality assurance within the maintenance management systems.
  12. Respond to emergency situations as required.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • A degree from an accredited institution in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in GIS, CAD, asset management, or engineering technology, with at least one year in a utility context.
  • Valid Florida Driver License within 30 days of appointment.
  • Preferred certifications include GISP or Asset Management Certificate.
