Classification Title:
Business Intelligence Analyst

Role Summary:
The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing data requests, ensuring effective reporting and tooling across various departments. This position involves interfacing with multiple software systems utilized within the organization. The analyst will collect, summarize, and analyze data pertinent to operational metrics and outcomes, employing various software tools to extract, transform, analyze, and load operational data. Based on analytical findings, the analyst will provide actionable recommendations and troubleshoot internal tools and data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing requests for data and reporting, ensuring timely fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to enhance departmental information system usage and workflows.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing workflows and practices.
  • Support the automation of workflows by analyzing processes and system interfaces.
  • Provide guidance to end users on best practices for data collection and entry.
  • Contribute to the administration and maintenance of departmentally supported systems.
  • Engage with Business Affairs Technical Services and IT for system support as needed.
  • Participate in operational meetings, presenting analytical findings and recommendations.
  • Document processes and procedures related to data management and analysis.

Work Schedule:
M-F 7:00am-4:00pm

Compensation:
$58,000 - $65,000 Annually

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline with three years of relevant experience.


Skills and Experience:
  • Proficient in structured query language (SQL).
  • Experience with modern software systems and analyzing large datasets.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and data analysis of tabular data.
  • Basic electronic hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in implementing new software products or processes.

Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Understanding of construction industry terminology and basic statistical concepts.
  • Ability to learn new software systems quickly and effectively.
  • Critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
