Position Overview:

The Licensed Speech Language Therapist (SLP) is a qualified professional responsible for implementing therapeutic strategies aimed at rehabilitating patients with disorders related to speech, language, hearing, oral motor functions, swallowing, and cognitive abilities.

The SLP will:

  • Design, execute, and assess patient care plans to enhance or sustain patient health.
  • Collaborate with patients, their representatives (if applicable), and caregivers to develop and review care plans.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including notes and phone orders, consistently and promptly.
  • Coordinate care and communicate effectively with all healthcare providers involved in the patient's treatment.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders using appropriate assessments and metrics.
  • Uphold infection control standards and universal precautions during patient care activities.
  • Provide oversight and direction to home health aides as necessary.
  • Engage with all physicians and healthcare practitioners regarding the ongoing care plan.
  • Support the Agency's philosophy and adhere to administrative policies.
  • Participate in in-service training sponsored by the Agency.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a Master's or Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Additionally, a current State License in Speech-Language Pathology is required, or compliance with the stipulations outlined in 42 CFR §484 if licensure is not applicable.

Experience:

Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience in an acute care, rehabilitation, or home health setting.

Skills:

Successful candidates will demonstrate therapy skills in accordance with established standards of practice, possess strong interpersonal abilities, and provide proof of current CPR certification.
