Key Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid, unrestricted license to practice as a Speech Language Therapist
  • No prior involvement in fraudulent activities or listings on the OIG exclusion list
  • Fluent in English, with strong reading, writing, and computer skills
  • Exhibit knowledge and skills tailored to the age-related needs of residents
  • Ability to make independent judgments and interact with diverse individuals tactfully
  • Familiarity with speech therapy methodologies and proficient in documentation
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and collaborative skills
  • Effectively plan, organize, develop, and execute speech therapy programs
  • Maintain therapy spaces and equipment in optimal condition
  • Exhibit patience, tact, and enthusiasm in resident interactions

Work Environment:

  • Operates in various settings including office spaces, therapy rooms, and resident areas
  • Engages in frequent movement and is subject to regular interruptions
  • Communicates proficiently with various stakeholders under diverse conditions
  • Participates in ongoing educational opportunities
  • Maintains a constant focus on resident safety
  • Addresses residents' speech therapy needs while collaborating with multiple departments

Performance Metrics:

  • Aids in standardizing therapy techniques utilizing outcome measurement tools
  • Plans, develops, organizes, assesses, and delivers therapy services in compliance with regulations
  • Upholds therapy standards, engages in discharge planning, and contributes to resident care plans
  • Conducts therapy assessments, maintains treatment records, and ensures timely submission of charges
  • Performs assigned duties, upholds resident confidentiality, and adheres to work directives

Educational Background & Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or equivalent
  • Preferred two (2) years of experience in a related healthcare environment

Physical and Sensory Demands:

  • Must be able to move throughout the workday
  • Effective communication in English is essential
  • Ability to manage the mental, emotional, and physical demands of the position
  • Function independently while maintaining personal integrity
  • Meet general health standards and assist in emergency situations
  • Willingness to engage with a diverse population
