- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify residents' speech and language needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address residents' speech and language deficits.
- Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to residents.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for our residents.
- Document residents' progress and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in discharge planning and ensure a smooth transition for residents.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field.
- Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing care facility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform job duties, including lifting and transferring residents.
The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a fast-paced environment, providing services to residents in various settings, including therapy rooms and resident rooms. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities is essential.
Performance Evaluation Criteria- Quality of care provided to residents.
- Effectiveness of treatment plans and progress made by residents.
- Collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Documentation and record-keeping.
- Adherence to facility policies and procedures.
A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field is required. A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing care facility, is preferred.
Physical and Sensory RequirementsThe Speech Language Pathologist must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday, speak and write the English language in an understandable manner, and cope with the mental, emotional, and physical stress of the position.
