The individual will also engage in research and technology initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit all necessary federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns for designated entities, including the development of supporting documentation and adherence to tax schedules.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of federal, state, and local tax estimates and extensions for assigned entities.
  • Compile and file sales and use tax returns for relevant companies.
  • Coordinate with various departments, including Accounting and Treasury, to address inquiries related to assigned entities.
  • Review fixed asset records and generate tax depreciation reports as required.
  • Prepare and evaluate supporting documentation for tax provisions reflected in financial statements.
  • Draft and review responses to federal and state tax inquiries or audits for assigned entities.
  • Assist with various projects within the Tax department or across other departments as necessary.
  • Enhance tax knowledge and maintain professional certification through ongoing education.
  • Gather data to support audit responses and fulfill information requests from tax authorities.
  • Contribute to technology and data initiatives designed to improve efficiency and streamline reporting processes.
  • Support research efforts related to tax compliance and planning issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Possession of a credential allowing unlimited representation rights before the IRS (CPA, Juris Doctorate, or Enrolled Agent).
  • A minimum of two years of public accounting experience in at least three of the following areas: C Corporation, S Corporation, individual tax, Partnership, or Trust.
  • Familiarity with ProSystem Fx, CorpTax, or similar tax preparation software.
  • Experience with tax research and tax provision software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex job-related processes to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and propose potential solutions.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.
  • Experience with data reporting tools such as Alteryx or Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
  • A Master's degree with a focus on taxation or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in sales and use tax is advantageous.
  • Experience in preparing tax provisions is a plus.
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire.
  • Additional work hours, including weekends and holidays, may be necessary.
